The hair is believed to be the woman’s crowning glory, and for decades, Cream Silk has been helping women from all walks of life achieve healthy, shiny and silky tresses to make them look good. More recently, Cream Silk has embarked on a campaign that transcends its mission to beautify Filipinas. The Cream Silk Women Empowerment Program has transformed the lives of young women by giving them a springboard to succeed against all odds. Countless Filipinas today are hindered by the lack of opportunities but given the proper resources, these women have the full potential to become achievers.
Unfortunately, most of them don’t have the means. Through their scholarship program, it is hoped to help these young women get a good head start in their careers and in their lives. Formed in November 2008, the program has been giving scholarship grants to deserving female college students enrolled in male-dominated courses such as Engineering and Architecture. 30 scholars from the University of the Philippines (UP) and 10 from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) are chosen each school year.
